I have a doctorate degree in Public Health (cancer epidemiology) from Griffith University, Gold Coast, Queensland. The topic of my PhD was Life-course approach to behavioural risk factors and quality of life for cancers of the upper aero-digestive tract in an Indian population: a case-control study. My research interests lie in non-communicable diseases (cancers: its epidemiology, risk factors and quality of life) and musculoskeletal disorders.
I have contributed a high standard of ethical and professional work in multi-sectoral collaborations involving the national government as well as international non-government partners like the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India and the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, United States, towards the goal of building and strengthening public health capacity in India. I have also carried out research activities in multidisciplinary health environment in both public and private sector hospitals.
