Professor Mwanri graduated in Medicine from the University of Dar es Salaam and held senior positions in both clinical and public health in Tanzania before migrating to Australia. In Australia, Lillian has worked in a wide range of settings including governments, communities and in academia. Lillian has a Masters of Community Degree and a PhD from the University of Queensland and the University of Adelaide respectively. She is also a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (FAFPHM). Lillian’s interest and research areas include Global Health, Migration and Health, Inequities and inequalities, Minority health, Physical Activity & Nutrition and general public health medicine research. Lillian has published more than 200 research articles in high impact journals. She has also been journal editors and reviewers in a wide range of journals. She has supervised (to completion) more than 20 High Degree by Research students from across the world including from Indonesia. Her supervision has included a range of PhD topics including in Mental Health, HIV/AIDS, Antimicrobial resistance, medical education, surveillance & outbreak investigation, nutrition issues.
