Research Profile

Professor Paul Ward is Professor of Public Health and Director of the Research Centre for Public Health, Equity and Human Flourishing (PHEHF) at Torrens University Australia. Paul’s research is situated at the intersections of health, medicine, risk, trust, (in)equality and lay epidemiology, and the theoretical and methodological lenses that are brought to these intersections.

Paul’s main research interests are around socio-spatial inequalities and inequities in health, medicine usage and the provision of health and social care.  Paul also has a particular interest in research around lay and professional perceptions, knowledge and understandings of health, healthcare, medicines, risk and trust.

In addition, given Paul’s experience in both qualitative and quantitative research, he has an interest in research that seeks to utilise the benefits of a pluralistic and multi-disciplinary approach.
