Research Profile

Robyn Latimer OAM is Director, Learning Services at Torrens University Australia. Robyn has held the roles of Associate Dean within the Design and Creative Technology Vertical, Program Director and Senior Lecturer. Her career has not followed a traditional academic pathway and has largely been successful through innovative teaching, leadership in online pedagogies, engagement with industry and leadership of learning and teaching, and student support strategies. Robyn draws on varied experiences across multiple industry sectors including Director of her own design and photographic company, and board leadership of a national not-for-profit for 17 years that advocates for neurodiverse communities. Robyn attaches importance to global perspectives and transferable knowledge leveraging and highlighting the role creatives play in navigating transformative and sustainable innovation. Robyn’s leadership ethos is to value add, lead with purpose, support, and enable by always seeking a better way. Leveraging a human-centred-design framework has been her compass to contribute to the greater good for students’ futures and society. Her education and experience are broad, enabling her to see synergies and opportunities to bring different elements together. Robyn believes this is how new knowledge, solutions and improvements in products and services are best achieved — working in collaboration across multiple teams and discipline areas.
