Research Profile

Dr Skipworth researches the impact of the Internet of Things (IoT) on the embodied experience of the built environment, coining the term ‘Disseminating Embodiment’. His PhD thesis proclaimed an ‘Anthropomorphic Durée Manifesto’ for expressing digitalised human agency. He is the Program Director for the Architectural Technology and Interior Design courses at Torrens University Australia (TUA).

Dr Skipworth continuously strives for the architectural technology and interior design suite of courses at TUA to pulsate with industry relevance and to generate the future of professional practice.  His academic leadership is informed by his PhD from Torrens University Australia, his MArch from Illinois Institute of Technology and professional experience with influential New York City and Sydney studios, including Gwathmey Siegel, Ike Kligerman Barkley and fjmtstudio.
