My research interests span all things related to design, design technology and design education in higher education. More broadly I have interests higher education policy with specific interests in academic standards and quality.

Research Profile

Professor Scott Thompson-Whiteside is the Executive Dean for the Faculty of Design and Creative Technology and provides overall academic leadership to staff and students. Scott has over 25 years experience in leading design schools and faculties at universities across Europe, Asia and Australia. Originally trained as an Industrial Designer before moving into Design Management and Strategy, his Phd and research combines his interests in higher education policy, design strategy and design education. Before joining Torrens University, Scott was the Pro-Vice Chancellor for the Faculty of Health, Arts and Design at Swinburne University of Technology.
