Project Description

Rental is Australia’s emerging tenure. Each year the proportion of Australians who rent increases, many of us will rent for life, and for the first time in generations there are now more renters than home owners. The project will provide researchers and policy stakeholders with the essential data infrastructure on Australia’s rental housing conditions that they urgently require - a publicly accessible multi year data resource to monitor housing quality, conditions, and population in the Australian rental sector. Researchers and policy-makers know very little about the rapidly changing conditions in Australia's rental market, and COVID-19 has made the need for this infrastructure all the more important.
