Abstract

Japan has a great influence on the Asia-Pacific and even the world economy. After decade years of declining, Japanese construction industry recovered in 2008 and accelerated slightly from 2009. The International Advanced Index is used to measures the international performance of Japanese construction industry. In addition, a comparative research is adopted to study the difference between 2000 and 2007. Besides the Width Index, the other entire indexes in the International Advanced Index are increased. Future research on the industrial competitiveness is needed.
