N2 - Air Defense is the basic nation's need for the sovereignty and defense of the homeland. Numerous studies have been conducted to improve the efficiency of threat evaluation and weapon assignment (TEWA), but still improvement is required in terms of time and cost. The weapon assignment is done during the wartime, but in stressed situation, errors may get occurred while assigning the appropriate weapon to neutralize threats. Assigning an erroneous weapon without having the ability to hit target at a certain height and speed would result in catastrophic consequences. Use of correct weapon for the target is always remained a goal for all decision-makers. The weapon is selected based on the evaluation of threats considering its significant parameters. This paper proposes a weapon selection model using Analytical Hierarchy Approach (AHP) to assist decision-makers in the efficient use of resources by selecting effective and efficient weapon in terms of time and cost. The results show that significant results can be achieved with the proposed model.
