Abstract

This concluding chapter reviews findings and provides a broader regional context, which highlights the complexity of the challenges of work-readiness and employability of VET and HE graduates in the ASEAN region. The contribution and research for this volume have examined the contemporary landscape of nine countries within the Asia Pacific region, namely, Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Australian, Nepal and Lao PDR, in terms of their respective policies related to labour market challenges, skill mismatches and human capital development, with specific reference to the vocational education and training (VET) and higher education (HE) systems.
