Abstract

In this contribution, the Open Community Approach for capacity building at the interface between Space and Global Health is analysed. Therefore, the term “Open Community Approach” is defined and regarded in several contexts. Wikiversity as collaborative development environment for Open Educational Resources is thematised. Recommendations for the structure of Open Educational Resources for Space and Global Health are derived from capacity building programs published by the World Health Organisation and finally, an Australian perspective on the Open Community Approach is offered. Australia is chosen as an example of a country with diverse demographic multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, and multicultural communities, distanced from each other due to the unique geo-location.
