Abstract

Metaheuristic optimization algorithms are popular tools for solving engineering optimization problems. In this chapter, space truss structures are optimized using three population-based metaheuristic algorithms: African Vulture Optimization Algorithm, Artificial Gorilla Troops Optimizer, and Artificial Hummingbird Algorithm. While satisfying several constraints on displacement and stress limits, these three algorithms will minimize the weight of space truss structures. Two well-known space truss benchmarks are used to test the algorithms' capabilities and robustness.
